So why would the housing affordability index reach an all-time peak? Interest rates are at historic lows. Interest rates have dominated the news quite a bit lately as we have established new record lows time and again. Potential home buyers in Broomfield need to understand the positive financial impact low interest rates have on the cost of home ownership and the thousands of dollars that can be saved over the life of a typical mortgage loan.

Paying off debt is usually the most common approach for home buyers and their families so that they can work on putting a good amount on a down payment for a house. The opportunity that is apparent when you take a look at the combination of low sales prices, good inventory, and great historically low home finance rates should make you rethink waiting on the Denver and Broomfield real estate market to change. The experts are already projecting appreciation in the next couple of years based on buying activity and the slight increases in homes sold prices across the board. So for buyers who are waiting for home prices to hit the “bottom,” before buying it’s important to point out that the possibility of a slight drop in the price of a Broomfield home’s market price will have very little effect on the monthly mortgage payment, while even a slight increase in interest rates (a far more likely possibility) will have a much more noticeable financial impact on a monthly mortgage loan.
What we encourage from this statistical data is that if you are able to buy and you want to, you should not wait. It could be a huge mistake when you take into account all the positives that the housing affordability index numbers indicate. If you can afford to buy, trade up, or invest, our current Broomfield real estate market and the statistics above definitely present a lifetime opportunity.

At the Westminster Keller Williams North office What we all definitely need less of is trash in our neighborhoods and communities. Thanks to the Adopt-A-Street program, the visual appearance of our busy streets in the Denver metropolitan area can now be a lot better! Lowering home values in Westminster or just making communities in Broomfield and surrounding areas not be as desireable to live in obviously lowers home values and when you are able take a program like this that at the same time can give something back to the community and help the Westminster Broomfield real estate market maintain it's conditions for all.

The Adopt-A-Street program allows community volunteers to make the commitment to remove litter along pre-designated sections of city streets for a minimum of once a month for a year at a time. Our agent volunteers are encouraged to monitor conditions on their section of the street and report any problems to city staff members for follow up. A City of Westminster representative assists the group in establishing a specific street segment to be "adopted", arrange an agreement, set up a litter pick up schedule, distribute trash bags and safety vests and discuss safety rules with the volunteers. The Keller Williams agents in Westminster will be cleaning the streets once a month between Huron Street and Federal Boulevard along 112th Avenue for the next year. There will be a sign placed in appreciation of the Westminster real estate agents for their participation in the program.
